Tiamat & Absu

As explained in my new book, “The Cosmic Origin of the Rig Veda”, Mars became captured in a geostationary orbit above Mt. Kailas one hundred times in a cyclic process designed to transfer all of its life to the Earth. The same process was repeated at each capture so one hundred generations of mankind witnessed the same sequence. Different cultures interpret the same features in slightly different stories, but the common origin makes it possibles to see the planet as it actually appeared.

As Mars approached, it could be seen to have green land areas and lakes. The Egyptians called Mars (Horus) “the Great green”. Those lakes were the fresh water aspect on Mars. But when it entered its geostationary orbit, the gravity of the Earth drew all the water in the northern hemisphere toward Mars’ north pole which remained facing the Earth, (in order that the Tharsis anomaly on the equator would remain equidistant from the Earth), covering the side facing the Earth. This was the source of the ‘peaceful’ merging of salt Tiamat and fresh water story.

The more chaotic version was that the same tidal effect of the Earth caused hundreds of volcanoes to erupt across the northern hemisphere facing the Earth which rose right up thru the ocean.  As a result, Tiamat and the Egyptian version Nut are shown stretching over Mars (not the Earth) covered with ‘stars’, called the circum-polar stars in the RigVeda due to Mars slow counter clockwise about its north pole facing the Earth  More slowly rock beneath the ocean facing the Earth was melted and a glowing sphere of magma expanded, which could be seen in the waters, called the “world egg”.

When it broke the surface, it formed an island, called the firmament, raqia, in the Bible.  The lava flow continued upward from the center of the island becoming manifest as a hardened lava column Absu apparently penetrating Tiamat (see Figure 1) which eventually extended to thousands of km down toward the Earth. However, it was also imagined to be a female feature Asherah in Canaanite texts. It was called Brahm, the extender, in the RigVeda, also Purusha the male aspect of Prajapati, the creator, leading to Brahma in the later Hindu Trimurti. In fact, the tidal covering of Mars in the RigVeda was attributed to Prajapati “cloving his bladder”.

The column became the dominant feature (god) for all cultures because it had flaming hair and was believed in the RigVeda to communicate all of the Soma smoke from their sacrificial fires to the other gods. This was Marduk in Mesopotamian texts, Yggdrasil , in Norse myth, Osiris in Egyptian myth,.the upside-down tree of the Shamans, the axis mundi. Large convulsions within Mars would sometimes collapse the ‘tree’ but it would reform. When Isis, the moon passed through alignments with Mars convulsions would blast meteorites, soil, water, Soma, intoxicating deposits containing sprouts of plants found on the ground every morning around the world. The largest convulsions would shatter the tree and shoot rapid fire streams of glowing large bodies from deep in Mars, such as the fourteen that struck the near side of the Moon forming the maria.
