Europa’s Water Plumes

Figure 3 Record of Jupiter's Slowing Rotation

NASA and ESA have just announced the detection of water molecules in plumes from the southern hemisphere of Europa. In a former post I explain the origin of the Galilean moons but wish to give a deeper explanation of Europa.  In the referenced post I explain why the moons are so

different. Contemporary science has difficulty explaining the very high temperature of Io, and the implied heat within Europa that would be needed to keep its submerged ocean liquid for 4.6 billion years. The ‘old saw’ that the heat is generated by a tidal ‘tug of war’ of the inner three moons on one another is obviously insufficient. This dissipation of heat would certainly have resulted in a decay of their orbits in their imagined life times.

Because the jet plume from the fusion reaction in the crater on Jupiter, which contributed to the makeup of the Galilean moons, declined very gradually after the impact out of which proto-Venus was formed only 6,000 years ago, Europa was too hot for the enormous amount of water in the jet to settle on the heavy element core in the first one or two subsequent millennia.  This is the current situation on proto-Venus today. But once Europa cooled sufficiently, the massive amount of water already at its orbit finally settled on the rocky-iron core, forming its ocean.. The fact that this is still liquid with a thin frozen crust attests to both the timing of the proto-Venus impact and the longeviety of the fusion reaction in the crater which still burns today creating the Great Red Spot, the multiple zonal wind bands and temperature excess of Jupiter. The heat from the rocky/iron core of Europa is what is driving the plumes of water seen by Hubble.

The great longeviety of the jet shooting from Jupiter is attested to by two observations. First, what ‘concensus science’ believes is a ‘drift’ of the GRS recorded over the last 350 years (Fig. 1), is actually a measure of the slowing of the enormous planet’s rotation due to the vast amount of mass being ejected by the jet, which monotonically decreased until about 1930. Second, a drawing of Jupiter in a 1000 AD Arab text (Fig. 2), which shows a jet extending several planetary radii from Jupiter at that date.(It also proves that Arabic scholars of that period had telescopes.)

In Planetary Interiors, William Hubbard’s attempt to determine Jupiter’s tidal Q (a measure of its tidal influence on its satellites), based on the energy dissipation (heat) of Io, resulted in a QJ = 4. X10^4 and Q Io = 1, both physically impossible values. The canonical Q for a gas giant is infinity and for a solid earth-like planet is 100.  This has led Hubbard to suggest that Io must have an additional internal energy source.  Indeed, others have proposed that the entire interior of Io might still be molten rock (Keszthelyi et al. 1999). This indicates that something more than a tidal ‘tug of war’ is responsible for the heat of the inner moons.

The fact that Europa’s ocean was formed by the jet from a nuclear fusion furnace less than 5,000 years ago does not bode well for it harboring any form of life.

(1 Cor 2:6-7 NIV) We do, however, speak a message of
wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or
the rules of this age, who are coming to nought. No, we
speak of God’s secret wisdom that has been hidden and that
God destined for our glory before time began.
