Geminid Meteor Shower Mystifies Scientists

The ‘mystery’ as stated in a article (8/12/2010) is:

“Most meteor showers come from comets, which spew ample meteoroids for a night of shooting stars. The Geminids are different. Their source is not a comet but a strange rocky object named 3200 Phaethon that sheds very little dusty debris – not nearly enough to explain the Geminids.”

The notion that meteor showers are from the tails of comets is an invention of the current uniformitarian astronomical community. The orbits of comets do not resemble those of the meteors. Each meteor shower has a unique radiant, a position in a constellation from which each shower appears to originate.  Most people probably believe that the showers originate in these constellations, but that is not the case.  The orbit of each meteor shower is within the inner solar system, as shown in Figure 1.  (Babadjanov, P., Orbital Elements of Photographic meteors, p. 287.) What is absolutely amazing is that practically every meteor orbit is tangent to the orbit of the Earth (dashed circle) at perihelion.  The author of the book in which these orbits were published passes over this extraordinary finding with the cavalier statement:

“… the tendency of these orbits to be approximately tangent to the Earths orbit is clearly a selection effect…”

Implying that we only observe the meteors caused by the particles that pass through the atmosphere.  But this does not explain why they are tangent to the Earth’s orbit.  Why are there so few that pass through the Earth’s obit but are not tangent?

Establishment science has devoted considerable effort to finding a way to associate comets with meteors, without success.  On the contrary there is considerable evidence that meteors are they are associated with Near Earth Asteroids (NEAs).  Two papers published in the 1990s have shown that NEAs orbit the Sun in streams, i.e. with a number of large bodies following one another in essentially the same orbit.  Even more disturbing for astronomers is the direct correspondence between the orbits of these asteroid streams and those of some of the meteor showers shown in Figure 2.  (Bottke W.F. and Melosh, H.J. (Title unknown), Lunar and Planetary Science Conference, Houston, TX, 1995).  In addition to the matching orbits, the authors point out to their dismay:

“All of the groups have a minimum in orbital separation near perihelion, suggesting that a parent body broke apart here. The average distance from the mean orbit at this point for the three associations is 0.048, 0.051, and 0.046 AU respectively.”

They voice concern for this finding, because they anticipate a storm of criticism from fellow uniformitarians:

“What remains to be determined is the coherence lifetime for these asteroid/meteorite streams.  How long have they been traveling in similar orbits and how long will they be recognizable as a stream in the region of planet crossing chaos?”

The salient fact here is that in the uniformitarian paradigm, which currently governs planetary science, such a tight association cannot be present, because the orbits should drift apart over even a million years because of the tidal influences of Earth and Mars.  Their present tight associations mean they are very young (recent).  Moreover, although the authors note that the points of minimum separation of the bodies in each association occur at perihelion, he does not reinforce the startling facts that this is not only the point at which the orbits are tangent to the orbit of the Earth. but also the point at which their velocities are maximum. Continuing from the same paper:

“… If these asteroid streams indeed represent pieces of one parent body, then they present the unexpected chance to explore an ‘exploded’ asteroid without have to visit the main belt.”

In spite of the evidence implying their common origin was near the Earth’s orbit, they hold out the possibility that somehow this data can still corroborate the currently accepted hypothesis that earth approaching asteroids all come from collisions between main belt asteroids which lie beyond the orbit of Mars.  It is obvious that these streams cannot result from any kind of collision, which would send particles in all different directions.

Another establishment scientist, George Wetherill, actually stated that such a narrow stream is ‘impossible’.  The fact that planetary scientists cannot explain meteor showers, asteroid streams or their close associations is a reflection of the current uniformitarian paradigm’s failure to deal with many evidences of cyclic catastrophism.

The Answer

As I have explained many times in my books and posts, priori-Mars (still had solid core) orbited only 37,000 km (surface to surface) from the Earth for a total of 1500 years.  When it would pass through alignments with the Moon, or the Sun and Moon combined (at eclipses), great convulsions would wrack its interior and hot, glowing bodies would be launched, often in rapid-fire succession, from volcanic vents such. These ‘streams’ of bodies were called ambhamsi in the Rg Veda.  Even more commonly, bodies were ejected in pairs, described in the Rg Veda as cohabiting, such as formed the paired asteroid Toutatis.  The bodies are now called earth approaching asteroids and short period comets, and the many tiny particles ejected at the same time are what cause the meteor showers.  Each meteor shower marks the position of priori-Mars at the date of one or more such convulsions, which may have repeated many times due to the synchronicity of alignments with the Moon in subsequent years.  The ejected bodies diverge from the position of Mars, which was close to the Earth at the time of the year they were blasted from the planet,  Their aphelions vary due to the orbital velocity of Mars around the Earth, its spin, and the force of each ejection. added to the orbital velocity of the Earth itself.

Mars’ proximity to the Earth during the Vedic Period (3717 to 687 BC) explains why as much as 10^9 kg/year of meteorites are still falling to the Earth.  The total mass lost from Mars due to these convulsions can be estimated based on the fact that the northern third of Mars, which remained facing the Earth during each encounter, is roughly 7 km lower than the datum, another fact which astrophysicists cannot explain.  Also, the rocks, coming from its surface down to great depths, even from its liquid iron core, explain that the impressive variety of meteorites all come from Mars.

Astronomers have stretched the limits in order to satisfy the hypothetical relationship of a comet with each meteor shower, but in the case of the Geminids have been unsuccessful.  Within cyclic catastrophism there is a possibility that a short period comet might be associated with a meteor shower, because many near-surface bodies containing aquifers were ejected from Mars, but there is no reason to believe that all the particles in the shower came from the comet.  Innumerable small particles were blasted into space along with each large one. This is what short period comets really are – rocky bodies similar to the asteroids but containing a small amount of water in aquifers.  When they are heated by the Sun, they warm up and some of the water vents into space, freezes into ice crystals and makes them visible.  They are not great spheres of ice, as has been proven by the NASA Deep Impact probe which blew out rock fragments from comet  Tempel 1 – not water.

One ejected ‘stream’ is described in an Egyptian myth in which Osiris’ body was cut into fourteen pieces by Set and spread around so his body could not be resurrected.  His lover, Isis (the Moon), went around and erected a monument where she found each piece.  This was a description of the creation of the fourteen lunar maria (the monuments) which were formed by the impacts of a rapid-fire sequence of asteroids only about 3,000 years ago. Although they do not understand its origin, the Egyptian people today celebrate ‘the day that Osiris entered into the Moon.’  Planetary scientists believe the maria mark a great, ‘late bombardment’ and, based on the ages of the rocks in the maria, which are actually from deep in Mars, believe that the maria were formed some 4 billion years ago at dates hundreds of million years apart.  They do not even try to explain why they all impacted on the near side of the Moon – a glaring failure.

The asteroid streams and meteor showers are a side effect of Yehovah’s greatest physical endeavor – the manipulation of the planets Venus, Mars and Mercury, to transfer all the atmosphere, water, crust, biosphere (in the form of manna) and fauna, (that’s another story) from the ancient living planet, priori-Mars, to the Earth, for the benefit of the newly created mankind.  Before that great intrusion into the world, the Earth was a reptilian nightmare.
